Public Area Attendant

About the role

The Public Area Attendant ensures that all public spaces at Rixos Al Mairid are clean, hygienic, and welcoming for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain lobbies, corridors, elevators, restrooms, and outdoor areas, ensuring they are sanitized and well‑kept.
• Provide guest assistance with directions and basic inquiries, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Perform routine floor care such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing furniture and fixtures.
• Manage trash removal and follow waste‑disposal policies.
• Conduct deep‑cleaning tasks like carpet shampooing and high‑touch surface polishing.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and report maintenance issues.
• Handle lost‑and‑found items according to hotel protocols.
• Identify safety hazards and report spills or maintenance concerns.
• Support event setup and post‑event cleaning in public areas.
• Follow eco‑friendly cleaning practices and support sustainability initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience in hospitality is an advantage.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Friendly, professional customer service attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively with housekeeping and maintenance teams.
• Effective time‑management skills to prioritize tasks.
