QA/QC Engineer – Abu Dhabi

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical QA/QC Engineer to join its quality assurance team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on monitoring and ensuring compliance of contractors’ quality activities on power and utilities projects.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee contractors’ QA/QC activities, including Quality Management Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements and related procedures.
• Review and respond to Inspection Requests, Material Inspection Requests, test reports, material submittals and certificates to verify compliance with specifications and utility standards.
• Identify non‑conformances, track NCRs and Site Observation Reports, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Participate in quality audits, inspections and site walks with contractors, clients, utility providers and authorities.
• Ensure contractors adhere to approved Quality Management Systems, ISO standards and authority requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, commercial, HSE, commissioning and project management teams to resolve quality‑related issues.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, NCRs, corrective actions and handover documentation.
• Prepare regular quality performance reports for the PMC management team and client.

Required profile

• Proven track record in a similar QA/QC position within construction or utilities projects.
• Construction‑related degree is desirable; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
• Consultancy experience and local UAE QA/QC experience are highly desirable.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.
