Quality Control Inspector – Coating

About the role

SGS is seeking experienced Quality Control Inspectors specialized in coating to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring that all materials, equipment, and construction activities meet the highest quality standards on site.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and execute inspection jobs with professionalism.
• Carry out inspections on materials, equipment, and construction/installation activities.
• Issue quality records and prepare non‑conformance reports for the QC Supervisor.
• Verify compliance with the Quality Control Plan, Inspection Test Plan, and relevant engineering standards.
• Manage documentation certifying tests, controls and inspections.
• Validate special processes and workers’ qualifications.
• Inspect power transformers, switchboards, batteries, lighting systems, RTUs, instruments, cables and related components.
• Perform visual inspections, dimensional tests and rating checks.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas construction sector.
• Familiarity with engineering standards and codes used in QC surveillance for Construction/EPC projects.
• Preferred certifications: CSWIP, AWS, BGAS, NACE, ADNOC approval in coating/painting.
