Quality Inspector – Piping & NDE (Level I)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Quality Inspector (Level I) to support piping, non‑destructive testing (NDE), hydro‑testing and test pack activities. The role ensures that all NDE work is carried out to approved procedures, codes and standards while coordinating efforts between subcontractors, contractors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all NDE is performed by qualified and certified personnel in line with approved procedures.
• Verify the validity of NDE technicians’ certifications for the specific methods used.
• Check calibration, suitability and serviceability of NDE equipment, consumables and chemicals.
• Coordinate NDE activities across subcontractors, contractors and Petrofac teams.
• Monitor, supervise and assist NDE subcontractors to meet quality standards.
• Witness NDE operations, interpret results and confirm compliance with specifications and codes.
• Review NDE reports, radiographs and procedures for correctness and code adherence.
• Maintain appropriate ambient conditions, including dark‑room facilities, for testing.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of materials, films and chemicals.
• Track status of NDE work (accepted, rejected, outstanding) and report findings.
• Verify piping installation against P&IDs, isometric drawings, codes and standards, including size, schedule, flange class, valve orientation, insulation and protection.

Required profile

• Experience in performing or supervising NDE activities on process piping.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards and specifications for piping and NDE.
• Ability to coordinate multiple parties and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Attention to detail in reviewing drawings, reports and calibration records.
