Radiation Protection Technologist

About the role

The Radiation Protection Technologist is responsible for planning and executing radiation protection activities in accordance with regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and nuclear safety standards. This role ensures safe operation of radiologically controlled areas, monitors contamination, and supports emergency preparedness within the nuclear facility.

Key responsibilities

• Manage access to Radiologically Controlled Areas, contaminated zones, and high‑radiation zones, and oversee the execution of Radiation Work Permits.
• Conduct radiation surveys of personnel, equipment, and the environment, and provide data for permit analysis.
• Maintain and calibrate personal radiation protection equipment, dosimetry devices, and portable monitoring instruments.
• Control hazardous materials, monitor personal contamination, and perform decontamination as required.
• Coordinate radiation protection measures during emergencies and oversee liquid and gaseous radioactive effluent releases.

Required profile

• Diploma in a relevant technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of radiation protection experience, including at least 1 year in a nuclear power plant environment.
• Ability to follow health, safety, security, and business continuity policies.
