Recreation Supervisor

About the role

Viya, the UAE's leading golf and hospitality management group, is looking for a Recreation Supervisor in Abu Dhabi. The role leads the day-to-day operations of the club's recreational facilities, keeping them safe, engaging and well maintained for members and guests. It reports to the Assistant Country Club Manager and covers guest-facing team performance, operational efficiency and consistent delivery of the club's standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily opening and closing procedures across all recreation areas.
• Keep facilities clean, safe and fully functional.
• Supervise and support the Little Acres Kids Club, Lifeguards, Reception and Housekeeping teams, sometimes taking a full or partial shift.
• Act as duty manager in the absence of senior management, covering operations, member experience and incidents.
• Lead, coach and develop team members through briefings, performance management and training needs analysis.
• Deliver a high-quality member experience, handle feedback and complaints to resolution, and plan recreational programmes and events.
• Drive revenue through upselling, promotions and utilisation initiatives, and help run on-the-day events such as kids' parties.
• Monitor facility use, member feedback and performance, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards, keep accurate operational records, assist with scheduling and rostering, and support the Assistant Country Club Manager with ad-hoc tasks.

Required profile

• Proven supervisory experience in hospitality, leisure or recreation.
• Experience managing multi-department teams.
• Preferred: experience in a luxury or member-focused environment, experience with children or children's programmes, and first aid certification.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyse performance data and drive improvements.
• Working knowledge of health and safety regulations (preferred).
