Refrigeration & HVAC Technician

About the role

JW Marriott Al Forsan in Abu Dhabi is hiring a full-time, non-management Refrigeration & HVAC Technician. The role covers responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, and carrying out basic repairs across a range of systems.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests and communicate with guests about maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and visually inspect tools, equipment and machines.
• Identify, locate and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs, and maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts through approved channels.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing (plunge toilets, unclog drains), electrical components, lamps, switches and outlets, and guestroom items.
• Replace A/C filters, paint and minor drywall and wood trim repairs, and perform general housekeeping and engineering inventory duties.
• Program TVs, perform landscaping and sprinkler repairs, and use the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work.
• Enter air handler schedules and make temperature changes on a computer, and follow safety, security and company policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Driver's license required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge or ability to learn air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, energy conservation and building basics.
• Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules.
