Regional Director, Middle East

About the role

The Regional Director for the Middle East will lead the Directorate of Green Growth Implementation, shaping strategic direction, mobilising resources and managing a multi‑country portfolio of programmes and budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee country operations, including programme design, business development, project implementation and stakeholder engagement across the region.
• Drive resource mobilisation, develop proposals and build partnerships with core donors, GCC investors, philanthropies and multilateral agencies.
• Provide strategic leadership to regional office teams and country representatives, ensuring quality delivery, talent management and expansion of GGGI’s presence.
• Monitor financial and programme performance, implement results‑based management and take corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in international development, public policy, environmental studies, economics or related field.
• 10‑15 years of relevant experience, including 7‑9 years in senior leadership of complex, multi‑country programmes.
• Proven track record managing large budgets, diverse teams and multi‑stakeholder partnerships.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic is a plus.

• Base salary starting at USD 198,852 per annum (G13 grade level).
