Regular or Visiting Faculty – Civil Engineering (2026)

About the role

The Department of Civil Engineering at the American University of Sharjah seeks qualified candidates for regular or visiting faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, starting in the Fall semester of 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in civil engineering, construction engineering and management, or digital construction.
• For regular faculty, develop and maintain an active research program supported by internal and external funding.
• Mentor students, supervise theses, and contribute to curriculum development.
• Participate in departmental service, committees, and accreditation activities.

Required profile

• PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience and a strong teaching portfolio.
• For regular faculty, a record of research productivity and ability to secure funding.
• Experience with the American model of higher education is highly desirable.
