Resident Engineer - Abu Dhabi

About the role

KEO International Consultants, an AEP/PMCM firm active in planning, design and project delivery, is looking for a Resident Engineer to join its team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role manages the technical and engineering aspects of the project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards, while supervising day-to-day construction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all on-site engineering activities, making sure construction follows approved drawings, specifications and standards.
• Ensure work complies with quality standards, regulatory codes and safety practices.
• Act as the main contact between the project team, contractors, consultants and clients, and coordinate them effectively.
• Track progress, report milestones, issues and schedule changes to the Project Manager, and monitor contractor and subcontractor performance.
• Resolve technical and logistical challenges and address potential delays proactively.
• Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, inspection reports and change orders.
• Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and company safety policies, conduct regular safety inspections and take corrective action.
• Monitor project costs and manage variations from the approved budget.
• Supervise inspections and testing of materials, systems and structures.
• Keep clients, consultants and stakeholders informed and manage their expectations throughout the project.

Required profile

• At least 15 years of work experience, together with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience on large-scale villa projects in the UAE.
