Resident Engineer - Marine

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Resident Engineer (Marine) to lead day-to-day construction supervision of major marine and environmental works. The role ensures compliance with contract requirements, approved drawings and specifications, and HSE standards. The position is based in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the site supervision team for marine and environmental works, including temporary cofferdams, dredging and reclamation, piling, seawalls, revetments and quay walls.
• Follow up with the Environmental Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD) to obtain approval of the project's CEMP (Construction Environmental Management Plan).
• Direct and manage supervision of marine key assets and associated structures, and supervise site engineers, inspectors and surveyors for quality and timely delivery.
• Coordinate with other discipline Senior Resident Engineers and with design engineers to resolve technical issues.
• Review contractor submissions such as shop drawings, method statements, RFIs and technical proposals.
• Maintain daily diary records, review daily reports, monitor progress and productivity, and coordinate contractors on scheduling and resources.
• Identify risks, advise on contractual and construction matters, and ensure safety goals and safe work procedures are met.
• Issue site directions and prepare regular progress reports for marine and environmental work.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction supervision of marine projects.
• Experience in marine and environmental works (cofferdams, dredging, reclamation, piling, seawalls, revetments, quay walls).
• Strong stakeholder coordination across multi-discipline and multi-contractor environments.
• Able to attend physical interviews in Abu Dhabi; GCC experience is an advantage.

• Fluent English (written and spoken) with strong technical writing skills.
• Strong computer literacy for reporting, record keeping and project systems.
