Resident Systems Engineer - Microsoft Infrastructure

About the role

Proxima Networks is seeking an experienced Resident Systems Engineer to provide on-site Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for Microsoft infrastructure and enterprise IT systems at a client location in Dubai. The role suits someone with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft infrastructure, Microsoft 365, virtualization and systems administration, who can manage day-to-day IT operations independently and escalate complex issues to L3 support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on-site L1 and L2 support, escalating complex issues to L3 when needed
• Manage and troubleshoot Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy and user permissions
• Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Teams, Intune and SharePoint Online, including licensing, users, roles and access
• Support security services such as MFA, Conditional Access and Microsoft Defender, and administer Exchange Online
• Manage VMware or Hyper-V virtual environments and backup and recovery operations
• Troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs and TCP/IP connectivity
• Handle incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs and coordinate with L3 teams and third-party providers
• Maintain system documentation, incident records and change logs

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on systems administration in enterprise IT environments
• Experience providing L1/L2 infrastructure support and coordinating escalations
• Ability to work independently at a customer site, with good communication and documentation skills
• Candidates currently residing in the UAE preferred

Required skills

• Windows Server and Active Directory administration
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration; hands-on experience with Entra ID, Intune, Teams and SharePoint Online
• VMware or Hyper-V administration
• Backup and recovery solutions
• Networking fundamentals and troubleshooting
• Preferred: Azure, PowerShell scripting, Exchange / hybrid Exchange, and Microsoft certifications such as AZ-802, MD-102, SC-300, AZ-104
