Retail Operations Manager - Furniture Retail

About the role

The Retail Operations Manager oversees and manages the activities of furniture retail stores so that they run smoothly and align with the company's strategic goals. The role covers leading operations, improving performance, shaping operational strategy and delivering world-class customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies and solutions that drive operational change and improvement, and help set productivity standards and goals aligned with the business plan.
• Manage the end-to-end sales order process, from placement to installation, including capacity planning.
• Plan, direct and coordinate distribution, delivery, repair and facility activities, and ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
• Lead and support department heads and teams, handling hiring, employee development, pay administration and team motivation.
• Review cost-effectiveness, consistency, quality and performance against company standards, and implement processes for accurate, timely delivery of high-quality products.
• Optimise operations systems and workflows to deliver excellent customer service, working with department heads to resolve customer issues and improve processes.
• Assist in developing productivity methods and service measures, and recommend process improvements to the VP of Operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field.
• Proven experience in retail operations or a similar role with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong problem-solving, organisational and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Proficiency in operational software and tools.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards.
