Senior Accountant

About the role

Udrive is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee the full accounts payable process, ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, and support month‑end and year‑end financial closing. The role involves close collaboration with procurement, operations, billing and other internal teams to guarantee accurate expense recognition.

Key responsibilities

• Download and verify supplier invoices against approved purchase orders, contracts, GRNs and department confirmations, then record them in the ERP system with correct GL, cost centre, VAT treatment and payment terms.
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations, ensuring all invoices, credit notes, payments and outstanding balances are accurately captured and resolved.
• Prepare weekly and monthly payment proposals, monitor accounts payable ageing, supplier advances, debit balances and unapplied payments.
• Record monthly accruals for goods and services received when supplier invoices are pending.
• Process Traffic Fine and Salik invoices, validate data and coordinate with the Billing Department for timely customer charging.
• Review supplier invoices for compliance with UAE VAT regulations and maintain supporting documentation for audit purposes.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, pre‑payments, depreciation, provisions and other GL adjustments.
• Execute monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations (bank, intercompany, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, etc.).
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports and variance analyses.
• Support internal and external audits by providing reconciliations, audit schedules and statutory documentation.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
