Senior Associate – Construction

About the role

Our client, an international law firm, is seeking a Senior Associate to join its award‑winning regional construction team in Dubai. The role focuses on high‑profile, large‑scale construction matters, combining contentious litigation with advisory work throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of primarily contentious construction matters.
• Assist partners with advisory work during the construction phase of projects.
• Draft and negotiate a wide variety of building and engineering contracts.
• Provide advice on warranties, guarantees, and appointment documentation.
• Support partners in delegating work and supervising junior team members.
• Work closely with clients to develop long‑term relationships.
• Actively participate in practice‑group business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong academic background and training from a recognised international law firm.
• At least 5 years of construction experience at a reputable law firm with a focus on construction litigation and international arbitration.
• Ability to handle both contentious and non‑contentious matters.
• Regional construction experience within the Middle East.
• Proven track record of leading complex, high‑value litigation.
• Interest in marketing and business development, with the ability to foster long‑term client relationships.
• Pro‑active, commercial approach and willingness to assume responsibility.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Drive, enthusiasm and flexibility.
