Senior Automotive Design Engineer (R&D) – Dubai

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Automotive Design Engineer (R&D) to lead the design and development of custom vehicle projects for our Dubai‑based modification and engineering team. The role covers the full product lifecycle from concept through production and testing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end automotive design and development projects for custom builds and vehicle modifications.
• Create concept designs and high‑quality renders for client approval.
• Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings for sheet‑metal, structural components and full vehicle assemblies.
• Manage product lifecycle from concept, prototyping, production to testing.
• Validate designs for feasibility, manufacturability, compliance with UAE/GCC standards and cost efficiency.
• Prepare and maintain BOMs, technical documentation, ECNs and design revisions.
• Coordinate with production workshops and engineering departments to resolve technical issues.
• Mentor junior designers and engineers on best practices and design standards.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering or equivalent.
• 6‑10+ years of experience in automotive design, vehicle modification or up‑fitting.
• Strong knowledge of sheet‑metal design, structural component design and manufacturing feasibility (DFM/DFA).
• Experience with GCC automotive standards preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SOLIDWORKS.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with Geomagic Design.
• Proficiency in SketchUp.
