Senior Automotive Design Engineer (R&D) – Dubai

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Automotive Design Engineer (R&D) to join our vehicle modification and engineering team in Dubai. You will lead end‑to‑end design and development of custom vehicles, modifications, and upfitting projects from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead automotive design and development projects for custom builds and vehicle modifications.
• Create concept designs and high‑quality renders for client approval.
• Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings for sheet‑metal, structural components, and full vehicle assemblies.
• Manage the product lifecycle from concept, prototyping, production, to testing.
• Validate designs for feasibility, manufacturability, compliance with UAE/GCC standards, and cost efficiency.
• Prepare and maintain BOMs, technical documentation, ECNs, and design revisions.
• Coordinate with production teams, fabrication workshops, and engineering departments to resolve technical issues.
• Mentor junior designers and engineers on best practices and design standards.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering or equivalent.
• 6–10+ years of experience in automotive design, vehicle modification/upfitting, and product development.
• Strong leadership, project ownership, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• GCC experience preferred and immediate relocation to Dubai.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, Geomagic Design, SketchUp.
• Expertise in sheet‑metal design and fabrication processes.
• Design of structural components and full vehicle assemblies.
• Manufacturing feasibility, DFM/DFA principles.
• Knowledge of vehicle modification standards and UAE/GCC compliance.
