Senior Backend Developer (Go) - Energy Trading Platform

About the role

A partner company is looking for a Senior Backend Developer (Go) to architect and develop reliable, scalable backend systems for a business-critical energy trading platform. The role is fully remote and involves building high-throughput, low-latency services using AI-assisted development tools, while mentoring other engineers and shaping backend development practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable backend services, prioritizing performance, reliability, maintainability and security.
• Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI to speed up implementation and improve code quality.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and tasks for developers and AI agents.
• Review and validate pull requests from human developers and AI agents.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers and other stakeholders on critical features and architecture.
• Promote test-driven development, maintain automated test coverage and integrate testing into CI/CD.
• Design and optimize database schemas and data access patterns across relational, key-value and time-series databases.
• Apply secure coding practices, monitor latency, throughput and scalability, and contribute to distributed system architecture.
• Mentor other developers and share engineering best practices.

Required profile

• 10+ years of backend software development experience, including system architecture and technical design.
• Demonstrated experience optimizing high-throughput, low-latency systems and diagnosing performance bottlenecks.
• Experience with TDD, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of application security principles, including OWASP guidance and compliance.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructure, containers, Kubernetes and service meshes.
• Excellent written and spoken English and the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Required skills

• Strong Go; Rust is a plus.
• Database schema design, query optimization and data storage.
• Distributed systems, concurrency, scalability and high-volume data processing.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding workflows.
