Senior Collection Officer

About the role

The Senior Collection Officer is responsible for managing the recovery of outstanding debts from clients and customers, ensuring timely payments and minimizing financial losses for the company.

Key responsibilities

• Review the company debtor list.
• Contact customers to inform them of overdue bills.
• Advise customers on payment options and suggest methods of payment.
• Negotiate suitable payment plans.
• Maintain accurate customer payment records.
• Prepare financial statements for banks and credit authorities.
• Issue final notice warnings when payments are not received.
• Initiate legal action for unresolved debts.
• Respond to customer queries.
• Coordinate with lawyers and insurance agencies to facilitate payments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management, or a related field.
• Previous experience as a Collections Officer.
• Excellent negotiating skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Familiarity with state debt collection laws.
• Knowledge of payment plans and accounting procedures.
• Proficiency with office and accounting software.
