Senior Draftsman - Power Projects (HV/EHV Substations)

About the role

A Senior Draftsman is needed within the Projects department to prepare civil and electrical drawings for power projects, especially HV/EHV substations. The role covers 2D drawings, 3D BIM models, multidisciplinary design coordination, shop and construction drawings and as-built documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Independently prepare and develop civil and electrical drawings for power projects, including 2D drawings and 3D BIM models
• Carry out multidisciplinary design coordination and BIM coordination
• Prepare shop and construction drawings and as-built documentation in line with project and client requirements

Required profile

• 18 to 10 years of relevant drafting/design experience, preferably in power projects, with proven experience in HV/EHV substation projects and multidisciplinary civil and electrical drawings
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, CAD/Drafting or a related technical discipline
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is an added advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
• Working knowledge of Navisworks/BIM coordination
• Ability to independently prepare civil and electrical drawings, including substation layouts, equipment foundations, cable trenches and routing, earthing and associated civil/structural works
• Shop and construction drawings, drawing revision and document control
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
