Senior Electrical Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical works on infrastructure projects such as pump stations, lifting stations and drainage systems in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage electrical installation for pump stations, lifting stations and drainage facilities.
• Oversee installation of transformers, switchgear, MCCs, control panels, power distribution, lighting and earthing systems.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, RFIs and other technical documents.
• Coordinate electrical activities with civil, mechanical, instrumentation and SCADA disciplines.
• Lead testing, commissioning, energisation, performance testing and final acceptance of electrical systems.
• Resolve technical and construction issues with contractors, suppliers, designers and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, quality, safety standards and applicable codes.
• Support project handover, including O&M manuals, as‑built drawings, testing records and asset documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical infrastructure projects, especially pump stations, lifting stations and drainage systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and system integration.
• Experience working with infrastructure contractors, consultants and project stakeholders in the UAE/GCC region.
• Good understanding of QA/QC, HSE requirements and relevant electrical standards.
