Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer with strong PMC background to join its Abu Dhabi team. The role involves delivering engineering activities across the full project lifecycle while ensuring compliance with client requirements, international standards and HSE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and coordinate electrical and instrumentation engineering for FEED, detailed engineering, EPC and brownfield projects.
• Prepare, review and approve deliverables such as specifications, datasheets, calculations, single‑line and loop diagrams, cable schedules and wiring drawings.
• Develop equipment specifications for transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, generators, field instruments, control valves, analyzers, DCS, PLC, ESD and fire‑gas systems.
• Perform electrical load flow, short‑circuit, voltage‑drop, cable sizing, earthing and lighting calculations.
• Support procurement, construction, commissioning and start‑up activities and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control or related discipline.
• 15+ years of oil & gas experience, including 5+ years on PMC projects.
• Strong background in multi‑discipline EPC projects and knowledge of international codes (IEC, IEEE, API, NFPA, ISA, IECEx/ATEX).
• Experience with greenfield and brownfield terminal/facility upgrades, preferably in GCC/Middle East.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ETAP, Dialux, SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI/Intools), AutoCAD or equivalent.
• Expertise in electrical power systems, instrumentation, process control, DCS, PLC, ESD and fire‑gas systems.
• Ability to conduct load flow, short‑circuit, voltage‑drop, cable sizing, earthing and lighting calculations.
