Senior Engineer – Mechanical – Static

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specialized in static equipment to lead a team of engineers and designers. The role involves supervising detailed engineering work, ensuring compliance with tender specifications, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Review Invitation To Bid (ITB) documents, issue inquiries, and evaluate techno‑commercial vendor offers.
• Analyse contract requirements, prepare Technical Document Register, and review specifications such as PDS, PMS, P&ID, GA drawings, and fire/gas detector layouts.
• Validate scope of work, budgeted man‑hours, quantities, and delivery schedules.
• Confirm equipment specifications, pressure requirements, material of construction, and operating environment limits.
• Supervise preparation of Mechanical Datasheets, including equipment sizing, PWHT, radiography, fireproofing, insulation, wind and seismic load assessments.
• Assess equipment compatibility with tender specifications and recommend alternative solutions when needed.
• Coordinate plot plan preparation, issue engineering drawings for inter‑discipline checks, and manage technical inquiries to vendors.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising engineering teams in mechanical static design.
• Strong knowledge of contract review, technical specifications, and procurement processes.
• Ability to interpret and verify Process Data Sheets, Piping Material Specifications, and P&ID drawings.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills for equipment interface and compatibility issues.
