Senior Engineer – Special Processes

About the role

The Senior Engineer – Special Processes leads the development, qualification, and industrialization of critical aerospace special processes for Powertech's propulsion programs, supporting turbofan, microjet, and piston engines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development, qualification and continuous improvement of special processes such as shot peening, thermal spray coatings, heat treatment, brazing, surface preparation and chemical processing.
• Define and review manufacturing routings, process specifications, work instructions, control plans and acceptance criteria.
• Establish process capability requirements and statistical monitoring methods to ensure stable production performance.
• Support greenfield manufacturing setup, equipment specification, commissioning and process qualification.
• Lead NPI activities from prototype development through production readiness, ensuring alignment with program schedules and certification objectives.
• Provide technical oversight to suppliers and partners, conduct audits and drive resolution of process‑related issues.
• Mentor and guide special‑process engineers and technicians on day‑to‑day technical matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 8+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience with strong background in special‑process development and industrialization.
• Hands‑on expertise in at least two of the following: shot peening, thermal spray coatings, heat treatment, brazing, chemical processing.
• Experience with New Product Introduction, process qualification, and production ramp‑up.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials such as titanium alloys, nickel‑based superalloys, stainless steels and aluminum alloys.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality systems and special‑process accreditation requirements.
