Senior Estimator - Fit-out & Joinery

About the role

The Estimator for Interior Fit-Out prepares accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for interior fit-out, joinery and refurbishment projects. The role supports the commercial team in securing profitable projects by reviewing tender documents, preparing Bills of Quantities, obtaining quotations and taking off quantities.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs and contract documents.
• Prepare quantity take-offs for fit-out, joinery, ceilings, flooring, partitions, finishes and MEP works.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing for fit-out and refurbishment projects.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Analyse project scope, identify risks and highlight exclusions or value engineering opportunities.
• Prepare tender submissions, cost breakdowns and commercial proposals, and coordinate with design, procurement, engineering and project teams.
• Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings, and take part in tender clarifications and negotiations.
• Maintain cost databases, supplier price lists and historical project costs; assist with budget preparation, cost planning and feasibility studies.
• Ensure estimates meet company standards, project specifications and client requirements, and support the handover of awarded projects to operations.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of interior fit-out materials, finishes and construction methods.
• Proficiency in quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation and cost estimation.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam or similar take-off software.
• Familiarity with estimation software such as Candy CCS, CostX or PlanSwift is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical and commercial acumen.
