Senior Fluids Engineer

About the role

The Senior Fluids Engineer provides technical leadership and operational oversight for all drilling fluids, solids control and waste management activities supporting the company’s exploration, appraisal and development wells in Sharjah.

Key responsibilities

• Support and promote implementation of company HSE policies, review contractor HSE systems and lead rig‑side risk assessments related to fluids and waste.
• Prepare and own the fluids sections of Basis of Design documents, detailed Drilling Fluids Programs and Recommended Practices for each well.
• Design fluid systems for specific formation challenges such as H₂S management, fractured carbonates, shale inhibition, underbalanced or managed‑pressure applications.
• Collaborate with drilling, completions and well‑testing engineers to ensure technical robustness and operational feasibility of fluids programs.
• Compile tenders, evaluate contractors, prepare technical specifications and provide on‑site technical support to rig‑site fluids engineers.
• Monitor critical fluid parameters daily, communicate issues to drilling superintendents and well engineers, and manage change documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HSE compliance and contractor oversight within oil‑field operations.
• Strong background in fluids program design, well planning and contingency development.
• Ability to lead technical audits, support pit remediation and site restoration projects.
