Senior Health & Safety Specialist

About the role

The Senior Health & Safety Specialist will provide expert guidance on occupational health and safety practices for CareerCompass GH and its clients. This remote, part‑time position focuses on risk assessment, policy development, compliance advice, and the delivery of safety training and workshops.

Key responsibilities

• Assess workplace risks and conduct remote assessments.
• Develop, review and update safety policies and procedures.
• Advise on compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
• Design and deliver safety training materials and virtual workshops.
• Support integration of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) principles into organisational processes.
• Recommend corrective actions following audits or incident reports.
• Prepare clear documentation, reports and monitoring best practices.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and client organisations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in health & safety and workplace safety.
• Strong background in occupational health and EHS, including risk assessment and regulatory compliance.
• Experience designing and delivering safety training and workshops for diverse audiences.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) and a degree in occupational health, safety management, environmental science or related field.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple stakeholders and communicate complex safety concepts clearly in English.
