Senior Hostess – Fine Dining

About the role

The Senior Hostess is the first point of contact for guests in a fine‑dining environment, ensuring a polished and welcoming experience. You will oversee front‑of‑house greeting, seating, and reservation management while supporting the service team to maintain high hospitality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests courteously, confirm reservations and manage seating according to service standards.
• Maintain waitlists, communicate accurate waiting times, and coordinate table rotation.
• Handle reservations via phone, email and reservation systems, updating guest profiles with preferences and VIP notes.
• Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager and Sommelier to optimise floor plans and guest flow.
• Liaise with service and kitchen teams on pacing, special requests and dietary requirements.
• Upsell signature dining experiences, special menus and events while collecting guest feedback.
• Uphold grooming, greeting and service standards; support training and on‑the‑job coaching for hostess team members.
• Maintain daily reservation records, guest preference logs and VIP trackers; complete end‑of‑shift handover notes.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of front‑of‑house or hostess experience in a fine‑dining setting.
• Polished, professional demeanor with strong guest‑focused attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident phone etiquette.
• Ability to multitask, stay organised under pressure and pay close attention to detail.
• Proactive problem‑solver with calm approach to guest concerns.
