Senior Industrial Designer, Robotics

About the role

Analog is looking for a Senior Industrial Designer to define the visual and tactile language of its physical hardware: robots, sensors and platforms built for real-world deployment. The designer works with deep engineering constraints and treats them as the raw material of great design, leading the design from first concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead industrial design of physical hardware systems from concept through production, working through constraints with engineering until the design intent survives to the end.
• Develop the full visual and material language of each product: proportion, surfacing, CMF and the logic of every physical interaction point.
• Produce production-ready 3D models, engineering drawings and CMF specifications, with full understanding of tolerances, material behaviour and manufacturing processes.
• Manage physical prototypes from rough form studies to production-fidelity models, evaluating work in hand against field environments and demanding use conditions.
• Work directly with mechanical, electrical and systems engineers, attend supplier builds, review tooling, drive field corrections and apply ergonomic and human factors principles to controls, connectors, indicators and access points.

Required profile

• 10+ years of industrial design experience with a portfolio of shipped, physically distinctive products.
• Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent demonstrated mastery of hardware design and manufacturing.
• Hands-on prototyping ability, comfortable in a lab or shop.
• A strong point of view and the ability to defend it.
• Nice to have: experience designing hardware in robotics, wearables or edge-deployed devices; exposure to generative design or AI-assisted design workflows.

Required skills

• Full proficiency in 3D CAD: SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360 or equivalent, modelling own work.
• Working knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal, CNC, casting and surface finishing.
• Familiarity with IP ratings, thermal management and environmental sealing.
