Senior Java Full‑Stack Engineer – Platform Services

About the role

Emirates Group IT is seeking a Senior Java Full‑Stack Engineer for Platform Services. The role sits within an agile feature team and involves designing, developing, implementing and maintaining software solutions that support the Emirates Group business.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior technical engineers to analyse application requirements and contribute to technical design.
• Translate technical solutions for small to medium initiatives into low‑level design and production‑ready code.
• Write secure, optimized code following Emirates Group coding standards.
• Participate in rotational on‑call support and resolve production issues within SLAs.
• Ensure built‑in quality with 100% unit testing as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
• Analyse and fix defects with minimal rework and adopt refactoring practices to reduce code debt.
• Implement logging and monitoring hooks in all code.
• Stay current with relevant technologies and continuously improve code quality.
• Adhere to coding standards, contribute to software engineering playbooks and other standards documents.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Java full‑stack development.
• Experience providing production support using the ITIL framework.
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices such as lean software, test‑driven development and CI/CD.
