Senior Legal Advisor – Corporate & Commercial Law

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to provide expert legal counsel supporting our corporate and commercial objectives. The role involves advising on government and commercial matters, guiding the Contracts Department, and managing litigation affecting the company.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, conduct and oversee a range of legal affairs aligned with the business plan.
• Provide legal advice to corporate affairs, including commercial and planning issues.
• Participate in discussions on important government or commercial matters.
• Advise the Contracts Department on contract claims and related negotiations.
• Handle and manage cases filed against the company.

Required profile

• Law degree from a recognised university.
• 10–12 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in an oil & gas organisation.
• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Fully qualified legal professional authorised to practise law in a recognised jurisdiction.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication abilities.
