Senior Legal Affairs and Contracts Specialist

About the role

The Office of Legal Affairs at Zayed University is looking for a Senior Legal Affairs and Contracts Specialist. You will lead the drafting, negotiation and management of university contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and finalize a wide range of university contracts, agreements and MoUs.
• Review agreements submitted by academic, administrative, research, procurement, IT, HR and other departments.
• Interpret contractual provisions and advise stakeholders on legal implications.
• Identify high‑risk or ambiguous clauses and recommend favorable revisions.
• Negotiate contractual terms with external parties such as vendors, consultants and partner institutions.
• Conduct legal research and provide written or verbal opinions with thorough analysis.
• Prepare amendments, addendums, renewals, warning letters, termination notices and other legal documents.
• Contribute to the development and review of university‑wide policies from a legal perspective.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in legal affairs, contract drafting and negotiation.
• Strong understanding of UAE legal and regulatory frameworks applicable to higher‑education institutions.
• Proven ability to advise non‑legal stakeholders on contractual rights, obligations and risks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
