Senior Legal Counsel – Marketing, Sales & Commodity Trading

About the role

EGA is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide dedicated legal support to its Marketing & Sales and Supply Chain businesses, covering aluminium sales, commodity trading and raw material procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements including sales contracts, offtake, purchase, tolling, agency and distribution agreements.
• Provide legal support to international sales offices in Singapore, Shanghai, Mexico and the USA, and to overseas production assets in Germany, Italy and the United States.
• Manage post‑contractual support, dispute identification and resolution, and coordinate with external counsel across jurisdictions.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, ensure compliance with sanctions, trade and anti‑corruption requirements.
• Oversee external law firm engagement, budget management and implementation of legal technology solutions.

Required profile

• Law degree from an internationally reputable university and qualification to practise in a common‑law jurisdiction (UK, USA, Australia, Canada or similar).
• Minimum 10 years post‑qualification experience, preferably with experience at a leading international law firm and in‑house counsel role.

Required skills

• Commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
• Knowledge of commodity trading and aluminium market regulations.
• Dispute management and litigation coordination.
• Ability to advise on international commercial law and regulatory compliance.
