Senior Linux/SRE Engineer – 10+ Years Experience

About the role

Synechron is seeking a senior Linux/SRE Engineer to join its Infrastructure team in Abu Dhabi. The candidate will lead the design, implementation, and operation of Linux‑based platforms supporting financial services applications.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the long‑term roadmap and architectural strategy for the Linux environment.
• Lead, mentor and manage a high‑performing Linux engineering team.
• Establish governance, standards, and best practices for configuration, patching, security hardening, change control and automation.
• Oversee budgeting, licensing, vendor relationships and procurement for Linux‑related technologies.
• Support, administer and maintain physical and virtual Linux servers across the infrastructure.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and integrate cloud services (AWS preferred, Azure acceptable).

Required profile

• 10+ years of hands‑on Linux system administration, preferably in financial services.
• Proven experience leading or managing Linux/DevOps teams.
• Strong background in building and operating CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS; Azure experience is a plus.
