Senior Manager AML CFT and DMLRO

About the role

The Commercial Bank of Dubai is seeking a senior professional to lead its Anti‑Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) function. As the Designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (DMLRO), you will act as the primary liaison with the UAE Central Bank’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and ensure the bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the AML/CFT policy, ensuring alignment with CBUAE regulations and guidance.
• Review escalated AML alerts and suspicious transactions, deciding on filing Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the FIU.
• Sign and submit STRs with delegated authority as the DMLRO.
• Manage responses and mandated actions from the FIU and support regulatory correspondence.
• Oversee daily operations of the transaction monitoring system, monitor alert queues, and report effectiveness to senior management.
• Lead complex investigations originating from senior management, regulators, law enforcement, or whistleblowing sources.
• Conduct periodic assessments of the transaction monitoring system to ensure it remains fit‑for‑purpose.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in AML/CFT compliance within the banking sector.
• In‑depth knowledge of UAE Central Bank (CBUAE) regulations, FIU reporting requirements, and sanctions frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage a transaction monitoring system and lead complex investigations.
• Strong communication skills to interact with senior management, regulators, and law‑enforcement agencies.
