Senior Manager – Business Banking Risk & Control

About the role

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead the Business Banking risk and control framework within its Retail Banking Group. The role involves governance, oversight and control management across portfolios, products and regulatory obligations to support sustainable growth and alignment with the bank’s risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and enhance the Business Banking risk and control framework to ensure operational, regulatory, conduct, financial crime and portfolio risks are identified, assessed, monitored and managed.
• Provide leadership for risk governance activities, challenge material control weaknesses and support management in strengthening the control environment.
• Oversee first‑line risk governance across portfolios, products, channels and processes, ensuring policies and controls are consistently applied.
• Monitor portfolio quality, emerging risks, policy exceptions and control performance indicators, delivering recommendations to senior management.
• Lead control testing programmes, thematic reviews and assessments to identify weaknesses and improve control maturity.
• Manage regulatory, compliance and financial crime risk activities, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and reported.
• Oversee Risk and Control Self‑Assessment activities, risk inventories and Key Risk Indicators, challenging risk ratings and control effectiveness.
• Report on risk exposures, portfolio quality indicators and governance outcomes to provide meaningful insight for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Risk Management, Operational Risk, Business Controls, Audit or Compliance within banking or financial services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics or a related discipline.
