Senior Quantity Surveyor - Infrastructure

About the role

KN International is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for its Head Office team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate has extensive pre-contract experience in the infrastructure sector, with strong expertise in cost estimation, quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, tender documentation and commercial risk assessment. The role develops accurate cost estimates and supports cost planning so projects stay commercially viable and aligned with client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review design drawings, specifications and contract documents to understand project scope.
• Prepare and check quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, equipment and other costs, documenting the basis of estimates.
• Break down project scope into work packages and prepare tender documents, scope sheets and requests for quotations.
• Review quotations against historical data and similar projects, and identify commercial and contractual risks.
• Maintain cost databases and coordinate with engineers and estimators.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 8-12 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years on government or major UAE infrastructure projects.
• Strong pre-contract quantity surveying, cost estimation, BOQ preparation and tendering experience.
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts and commercial requirements.
• Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel and measurement software such as CostX or PlanSwift.
• Estimating databases and historical cost information.
• Primavera P6 is an advantage.
• Analytical, numerical and reporting skills, and good communication skills.
