Senior Robotics Software Engineer, Payload Integration

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer, Omen Payload Integration to join the Maneuver Dominance team. In this role you will design, develop, and integrate software that connects autonomous platforms with mission payloads, including stores management systems, networked devices, and hardware interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer scalable, robust networked software that interacts with routers, switches and managed networks.
• Design and implement integration with stores management systems and payload subsystems to coordinate release of munitions.
• Architect APIs and Interface Control Documents using HTTP, REST and gRPC for vehicle‑to‑ground communication.
• Build and optimise low‑level data transport over UDP and TCP for low‑latency, reliable links.
• Develop hardware‑interfacing code bridging embedded sensors and payload electronics with autonomy software.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, vehicle and payload teams to integrate software into physical platforms.
• Travel up to 25% to test, debug and deploy systems in operational environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of production‑grade software development in C++ and/or Rust.
• Experience building software that interacts with networking devices and common router/switch hardware.
• Proven ability to design and implement APIs and ICDs using HTTP, REST and gRPC.
• Strong understanding of low‑level data transport protocols such as UDP and TCP.
• Experience writing code that directly interfaces with hardware, embedded devices or sensors.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and obtain a Secret security clearance.
