Senior Safety Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Officer to monitor and enforce workplace safety standards, conduct inspections and risk assessments, support incident prevention and investigation, coordinate safety training, and ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor company health and safety policies, procedures, standards, and site‑specific requirements.
• Conduct routine workplace, site, facility and operational safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions, behaviors and hazards.
• Recommend immediate controls for serious or imminent safety risks and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, observations, findings and corrective actions.
• Conduct workplace risk assessments, job hazard analyses and review task‑specific risk assessments, method statements and safe work procedures.
• Monitor high‑risk activities such as work at height, hot work, confined spaces, lifting, excavation, electrical work and machinery operation.
• Oversee permit‑to‑work systems, PPE usage and inspections, and ensure proper housekeeping, emergency routes and safety equipment.
• Support emergency preparedness, respond to incidents, conduct preliminary investigations and assist detailed root‑cause analyses.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, briefings and awareness training for employees, contractors and visitors.
• Coordinate with engineering, facilities, operations, security and HR on safety matters and monitor contractor compliance.
• Support internal and external safety audits, regulatory inspections and maintain safety registers, training records and compliance documentation.
