Senior Sales Engineer - Law Enforcement Technology

About the role

Axon, a developer and manufacturer of conducted electrical weapons, body-worn cameras and digital evidence management solutions, is looking for a high-energy, results-driven pre-sales sales engineer in Dubai. The role reports to the Director, Sales Engineering and involves travelling up to 70% of the time. It suits someone who enjoys pitching technology to leadership, channel partners and end users in a fast-paced, evangelistic startup environment focused on law enforcement and public safety.

Key responsibilities

• Master all Axon technologies and products, and lead business and technical presentations.
• Hold technical conversations with IT departments, including CIOs, and with channel partner leadership.
• Set and manage expectations with customers and team members, and provide first-level technical support during the pre-sales cycle.
• Build relationships with key partners and position the technology against competitors.
• Represent the products, company values and brand at field events such as industry and user conferences and tech summits.
• Own the POC/Pilot process: coordinate logistics, assess customer requirements, tailor tests and findings, and help prospects with initial configuration.
• Improve or create technical documentation, capture feature requests and give feedback to Product Management, Sales, Development, Support, Engineering and Marketing.
• Prepare Statements of Work (SOW) for professional services needed for binding quotes.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent), or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 4+ years of customer-facing pre-sales or consulting background.
• 3+ years of experience with public procurement in the Middle East.
• Experience selling SaaS-based solutions; experience in End User Compute or Cloud Computing preferred.
• Fluent English and Arabic; willingness to travel.
• Ability to work independently with strong judgment, and strong presentation skills.

Required skills

• Strong technical writing for customer RFPs and RFIs.
• Intermediate knowledge of routing and switching, telecommunications and Internet technologies; basic knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+ or WCNA are an advantage.
• Experience with law enforcement technology solutions and public procurement is a plus.
