Senior Security Engineer – Cloud & AI

About the role

AppliedAI is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to embed security‑by‑design across its cloud‑native AI platform. You will work on‑site in Abu Dhabi, collaborating with engineering and information‑security teams to automate and scale security controls throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct security assessments, threat hunts, code and log reviews, and penetration testing to uncover vulnerabilities.
• Design, implement, and monitor security controls for endpoints, infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Own incident response from detection through containment, remediation, and post‑incident analysis.
• Partner with engineering teams to raise the security posture via reviews, guidance, and automation.
• Participate in customer‑facing technical and security discussions as the trusted security point of contact.
• Support compliance initiatives such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, GDPR, HIPAA, and emerging AI regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience in information security, preferably in application or infrastructure security.
• Strong understanding of core security principles, threat modelling, and secure system design.
• Proven ability to build, test, and deploy automated security solutions at scale.
• Experience working across first, second, and third lines of defence in a regulated environment.
