Senior Software Engineer

About the role

The Lean Store team owns revenue-critical and compliance-sensitive infrastructure, from payouts and billing to the regulatory ledger behind ADGM and SwiftX growth. As a Senior Software Engineer you will take full ownership of core systems, drive delivery on committed integrations and ensure the reliability of infrastructure processing millions in transactions. It is a hands-on execution role for someone who enjoys owning domains end-to-end.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain core ledger functionality supporting SwiftX compliance and ADGM regulatory requirements
• Own the billing system end-to-end, including reliability, maintenance and evolution
• Deliver the Mal integration, a committed integration with direct revenue implications
• Handle incident response, client features and DC-related work so that SLAs are met on a live revenue stream
• Proactively improve stability, performance and scalability
• Review code at design level, refine designs and write technical specifications

Required profile

• Ability to own a domain independently, handling most backlog items without direction and driving design decisions
• Writers of high-quality, secure, fully tested code with solid monitoring and alerting
• Clear communicator who can explain technical risk to engineers and leadership
• Reliable on commitments, unblocking the squad and escalating early when needed
• Nice to have: fintech or payments background, experience in regulated financial environments, mentorship of junior engineers

• Backend engineering in Java, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, microservices and REST APIs
• Kafka for event-driven systems
• PostgreSQL and Redis
• Maven, Docker, Jenkins
• Prometheus and Grafana in production
• AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude
