Senior Software Engineer - Procurement Platforms

About the role

ByteDance is building a global one‑stop procurement platform that leverages AI to optimise buying plans and automate execution. As a Senior Software Engineer you will own end‑to‑end backend services, define robust architectures and ensure the platform remains efficient, stable and ready for future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and evolve scalable backend services with strong maintainability and observability.
• Collaborate with product, design and cross‑regional engineering teams to deliver new capabilities and improve user experience.
• Enhance reliability through performance analysis, tuning, and code‑quality initiatives.
• Mentor teammates via code reviews, architecture guidance and knowledge sharing.
• Define and drive mid‑to‑long‑term technical roadmaps and evolution strategies.
• Tackle complex technical challenges using proven patterns and help the team solve problems efficiently.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 4+ years of backend development experience, owning medium‑complexity systems or larger.
• Proficiency in at least one of Golang, Java or Python and solid backend architecture knowledge.
• Experience with messaging middleware, relational databases and common backend patterns such as idempotency, retries, rate limiting and asynchronous jobs.
• Strong skills in performance analysis, reliability engineering and observability.
