Senior Specialist Consultant – Child Psychiatrist

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Specialist Consultant in Child Psychiatry to join leading government and premium private healthcare facilities across the UAE. The role involves providing specialized mental healthcare to children and adolescents within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage psychiatric and emotional disorders in children and adolescents.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and prescribe medication when indicated.
• Provide guidance and counselling to parents and caregivers.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, psychologists, therapists, educators and other healthcare professionals.
• Monitor treatment progress, maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow safeguarding protocols.

Required profile

• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry with specialist training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Relevant specialist or consultant‑level clinical experience.
• Valid medical licence or professional registration and eligibility for UAE healthcare licensing.
• Excellent communication, clinical assessment and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Psychiatric evaluation and diagnosis of children and adolescents.
• Prescribing psychiatric medication.
• Development of individualized treatment plans.
