Senior Specialist - Finance

About the role

The Senior Specialist - Finance is a key member of the Finance department, reporting to the Manager - Finance within the Group CFO division. It is a full-time, overhead role (Grade 10) in Abu Dhabi, focused on audit and regulatory compliance (CIT and VAT) and statutory consolidation of financial statements under IFRS and IAS. The position also supports strategic decisions by giving senior leadership insightful financial analysis and recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Audit and regulatory compliance (30%): ensure timely internal and external audits and adherence to the COSO framework, VAT and corporate tax regulations.
• Feasibility analysis (15%): evaluate new projects and capabilities by analysing costs, benefits, risks and organisational impact.
• Financial analysis and reporting (15%): analyse financial statements for trends and performance indicators, prepare reports and executive summaries, and make presentations for Board and shareholder meetings.
• Financial KPI monitoring (15%): compare actual KPIs against targets and industry standards and identify improvements and corrective actions.
• Business intelligence (15%): support business intelligence modules, maintain data accuracy, build reports and dashboards and run ad hoc analyses.
• Ad hoc financial analysis (10%): respond to special requests from the Head of Finance, supporting audits and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in financial analysis or a financial analyst role.
• Certifications such as CPA, CA, CMA or ACCA are highly desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including complex functions and data manipulation.
• Understanding of financial modules and data analysis.
• Experience with business intelligence tools to build reports, dashboards and ad hoc analyses.
• Strong analytical thinking, written and verbal communication, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
