Senior Specialist, Purchasing

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Specialist in Purchasing to lead the procurement function for the company and its group of companies. The role oversees the complete sourcing cycle, from annual procurement planning and tender execution to purchase order issuance, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage category‑wide tenders and group initiatives to achieve economies of scale.
• Supervise a team, ensuring departmental KPIs, procedures, HSE standards and compliance are met.
• Review and process purchase requisitions, verify accuracy, and prioritize for further action.
• Develop annual procurement plans with end‑users and select appropriate vendors.
• Prepare RFQ packages, conduct pre‑bid meetings, and coordinate bid openings.
• Analyse commercial viability, negotiate with suppliers, and issue purchase orders in line with company processes.
• Obtain approvals for deviations, liaise with legal and finance as needed.
• Expedite deliveries, maintain records, and support budgetary offers for major items.
• Review and recommend improvements to purchasing procedures in accordance with UAE laws.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in procurement or purchasing within a large organization.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a purchasing team.
• Strong knowledge of UAE procurement regulations and company policies.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
