Senior Structural Design Engineer

About the role

GHD is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to design and develop structural systems for building and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop structural systems for building projects, ensuring compliance with local authority requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, MEP, architecture and utilities teams to deliver innovative, cost‑effective solutions.
• Review engineering designs for quality and safety, and manage QA/QC procedures throughout project execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians, overseeing successful project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience, especially in reinforced concrete and steelwork design.
• Professional engineering licence or equivalent certification preferred.
• Proven track record delivering building, water‑retaining or infrastructure projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro.
• Experience using CAD and BIM tools, and working to BIM protocols.
