About the role

Join the British Council in Dubai as a Senior Teacher of English, leading teacher development programmes and ensuring high‑quality English language learning experiences. You will provide academic support, mentor staff, and contribute to the centre’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage in‑house teacher development and CPD programmes.
• Provide line management, pastoral support, and conduct classroom observations.
• Collaborate with Teaching Operations and Customer Services on academic enquiries, product development and new course pilots.
• Champion safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion and SEND provision.

Required profile

• Recognised ELT qualification (CELTA, DELTA or equivalent) and undergraduate degree.
• Minimum CEFR C2 proficiency (IELTS Academic Band 8+ in all sections).
• 2+ years post‑diploma teaching experience across primary, secondary and adult learners.
• Proven line‑management and teacher‑training experience.

Required skills

• CELTA (or Trinity Certificate TESOL).
• DELTA (or Trinity Diploma TESOL) or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of teacher training design and delivery.
