Senior Technician – Assembly

About the role

EDGE’s Advanced Concepts division is seeking a Senior Technician to lead precision mechanical assembly of aerospace and defense systems, including UAVs, missiles and guided munitions. The role combines hands‑on assembly, testing, troubleshooting and team leadership in a fast‑paced prototyping environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly of precision parts, sub‑assemblies and complete systems using engineering drawings, hand tools, torque tools and alignment instruments.
• Lead and mentor technicians, monitor work effectiveness and ensure quality output.
• Conduct test fitting, adjustment and troubleshooting during prototyping and support integration with electrical or hydraulic components.
• Maintain assembly documentation, inspection records and provide feedback to design and fabrication teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in aerospace, defense or precision engineering assembly, with at least 2 years leading a technician team.
• Experience with aircraft systems, drones/UAVs, combustion engines or pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required skills

• Proficiency with mechanical tools, fasteners, fittings and alignment procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Competence in using calipers, micrometers, gauges and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and clearances.
• Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic and electromechanical systems.
