Senior Telecom Design Engineer (Rail & Metro)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Telecom Design Engineer to join our Rail & Metro team in the United Arab Emirates. You will lead the design and delivery of railway telecommunications systems for large‑scale infrastructure projects, working in a multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of railway telecom systems across all project phases.
• Design and coordinate Fiber Optic Backbone, Structured Cabling, IP/MPLS & Transmission Networks, CCTV, Public Address, Passenger Information Display, Access Control, Radio Communications (TETRA/LTE/GSM‑R), Telephone, Master Clock, Intercom and Data Networks.
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, drawings, calculations and BOQs.
• Coordinate with signalling, power, MEP, civil, track and architecture teams.
• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings and material approvals.
• Support construction, testing, commissioning and project handover.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10‑12+ years of engineering experience, including 7‑8+ years in rail & metro projects.
• Proven experience designing and delivering railway telecommunications systems.
• Strong knowledge of international railway standards and telecom integration.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary railway infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit/Navisworks is a plus.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English.
